No. A conviction under Penal Code 273a(a) / Abusing or Endangering the Health of a Child Under Circumstances Likely to Cause Death or Great Bodily Injury is not a “Strike” under California’s Three Strikes Law.
However, if the defendant actually inflicts great bodily injury on the child and is convicted of a felony, it could constitute a “Strike” under California’s Three Strikes Law.
